Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains how Jax Locksmith Solutions LLC ("Jax Locksmith Solutions," "we," "us") handles information collected through jaxlocksmithsolutions.com (the "site") and when you call, text or email us. If you have a question about it, contact us using the details at the end of this page.
Information you give us
Quote and contact requests
When you send the quote form, we collect:
- your name and phone number (required);
- the service you need, and optionally your ZIP code or neighborhood, your email address and any details you type in;
- whether you ticked the box agreeing to receive text messages about your request, and the exact consent wording you saw.
Along with your request we store the page you sent it from, the site that referred you, and, if you arrived from an ad, the ad click ID and campaign tags (see "Advertising" below). To stop spam, we also store your browser's user-agent string and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. We don't keep your raw IP address with your request.
Calls, texts and email
When you call, text or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us, such as your address, your vehicle or photos of a lock. We use it to quote and do the job.
On the job
Before we open a home, car or business, we check your ID and proof that you live there or own the vehicle. We look at these documents only to confirm who you are and that the job is legitimate.
Information collected automatically
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical details for each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. We use these logs to keep the site running, fix errors and block abuse. They're kept for a limited time and then deleted.
We also keep a count of pages that return "not found," with the address requested, the referring page and your browser type (user-agent string), so we can fix broken links. This log doesn't store your IP address.
Call and text button clicks
When you tap a "call" or "text" button, the site records that a button was tapped, which button it was, the page it was on and, for ad visitors, the ad click ID. This record doesn't include your phone number or who you are. It helps us see which pages help people reach us.
Cookies
The site uses as few cookies as possible:
- Security cookie (csrftoken). Set on pages with a form to prevent forged form submissions. Required for the form to work.
- Ad attribution cookie (jx_ad). A first-party cookie, signed so it can't be altered, set only when you arrive from one of our paid ads (for example, a Google ad). It stores the ad click ID, the campaign (UTM) tags and the page you landed on for up to 90 days. We use it for call tracking, so the site can show the phone number that belongs to that ad, and for lead attribution, so we can tell which ads lead to calls and quote requests. It doesn't identify you by name.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies. Set only after you interact with a page (scroll, tap or type), if analytics is turned on. See below.
- Microsoft Clarity cookies. Set only if we turn Clarity on. See below.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, but the quote form needs the security cookie.
Analytics and advertising
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, such as which pages are visited and which buttons are tapped. Google collects information like your device, browser, approximate location (city level) and pages viewed, and sets cookies to recognize return visits. We don't send your name, phone number or email to Google Analytics. You can opt out with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Ads conversion tracking and call tracking
We advertise on Google. When you arrive from one of our ads, Google Ads tags let us count a "conversion" when you tap a call or text button or send the quote form, so we know which ads work. Visitors who arrive from an ad may see a Google forwarding phone number instead of our main number. When you call it, Google shares call details with us such as the time, the length of the call and your area code, and the call is forwarded to us.
We may also upload the ad click ID from a quote request, and whether it turned into a job, back to Google Ads to measure results. We don't upload your name, phone number or email for this. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Microsoft Clarity (optional)
We may use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages through heatmaps and anonymized session recordings. We set Clarity to mask what you type into forms. When it's turned on, Microsoft sets cookies and processes usage data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
How we use information
We use information to:
- answer your request, quote the job, schedule it and do the work;
- send you texts about your request, if you agreed to receive them;
- keep business, tax and warranty records;
- measure which pages and ads bring in customers;
- protect the site and our customers from spam, fraud and abuse;
- meet legal obligations.
Text messages (SMS)
If you tick the consent box on our form or text us first, we'll send text messages about your request, such as quotes, arrival times and follow-up. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not share or sell your mobile number or text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the site and business, such as our web host, our email provider (quote requests are emailed to us), our phone and texting carriers, and Google and Microsoft for the analytics and advertising described above. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers, our business or others.
- A buyer or successor, if the business is ever sold or reorganized, under the same protections.
How long we keep information
We keep quote requests and job records for as long as we need them to serve you, keep required business and tax records, and handle any warranty or dispute. Spam submissions and button-click records are kept only as long as they're useful for spotting abuse and measuring the site. Server logs are kept only for a short time.
How we protect information
The site uses HTTPS encryption. Quote requests are stored in a private database that only authorized staff can reach, behind a login with a strong password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correction or deletion. Email us to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll do so unless we have to keep it for legal or tax reasons.
- Texts. Reply STOP to any message.
- Cookies and analytics. Use your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or Google's ad settings.
There is no agreed standard for browser "Do Not Track" signals, so the site doesn't respond to them. Use the choices above instead.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to other sites, such as Google reviews and Facebook. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we're not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date below.
