Locked Out of Your House in Jacksonville? We'll Get You Back In Without Damage
Taking calls until 9 PM
Most of Jacksonville in 20–45 minutes
First, try these three things
Most house lockouts end quickly. Before you call anyone, take a breath and check the easy options:
- Walk around the house. Check the back door, the garage entry door and the sliding patio door. Don't climb through windows; a fall costs far more than a locksmith.
- Think about spare keys. A neighbor, a family member, your landlord or property manager, or a lockbox you forgot about.
- Find a safe, comfortable spot to wait. In a Jacksonville summer, that means shade or a cool car, not a sunny porch. A neighbor's porch or a nearby shop works too.
If none of that works, call us at (904) 509-0907 or text us your address. We'll tell you the price and when we can be there. We're out on jobs Mon & Fri 7 AM–2 PM and Tue & Thu 7 AM–6 PM, and we answer calls Mon–Fri 7 AM–9 PM.
Is someone inside who needs help? If a child, a vulnerable adult or a pet is at risk, or something is cooking on the stove, call 911 first. Emergency crews can force entry faster than any locksmith can drive to you.
How we open your door without damage
Breaking a window or prying the door frame turns a lockout into a repair bill. We carry the tools to open almost every home lock the way it was designed to open.
- Knobs and lever locks can often be opened in minutes with a pick or a latch tool.
- Deadbolts are picked or opened with specialty tools. Your key still works afterward.
- Old mortise locks in historic Riverside, Avondale and Springfield homes need a gentle touch. We know how these older locks work, and we open them without harming the original hardware.
- Keypad and smart locks with dead batteries can usually be powered from outside or opened with their backup key cylinder.
- Sliding patio doors and interior doors, such as a bedroom or bathroom a toddler locked from inside, are usually the quickest of all.
Drilling is a last resort. We only drill when a lock is broken or high-security and can't be picked, and we always tell you first and quote the replacement before we start.
We use non-destructive entry first and only drill a lock as a last resort, with your OK.
What to have ready when we arrive
We check ID before opening any home. It keeps you safe, and it's the reason a good locksmith asks questions.
- A photo ID with the address, or another document with your name and address, such as a lease, utility bill or mortgage statement.
- If your ID is locked inside, that's fine. We open the door, then check it before we leave.
- Renters: we'll let you in with ID, but we only rekey or change a rental's locks with the landlord's approval.
If your keys are lost, not just locked inside
Getting back in is step one. If your keys were lost or stolen, especially with anything that shows your address, the old keys could still open your door. We can rekey the locks on the same visit, so the old keys stop working and you get new ones on the spot. It costs much less than new locks and takes a few minutes per lock.
If your locks are worn, low-grade or were damaged in a break-in, a lock change makes more sense. We carry common deadbolts and knobs in the van, so you don't need a second trip.
Lockouts we handle
- Front, back and garage entry doors on single-family homes and townhomes
- Condo and apartment doors, including gated communities
- Sliding glass doors and French doors
- Interior bedroom, bathroom and office doors
- Side gates and garage side doors
- Storage units and padlocks
- Keypad and smart locks with dead batteries or failed Wi-Fi
- Keys that broke off inside the lock. See broken key extraction.
Locked out of your car too? That's a separate trip for many companies, but we handle car lockouts as well.
A lockout is a good time to plan for the next one
Once you're back inside, a few small changes make a repeat unlikely:
- Make a spare and leave it with someone you trust. We can cut spare keys while we're there.
- Use a lockbox instead of a key under the mat or in a fake rock.
- Consider a keypad or smart lock. You can't lock a code inside the house. Our smart lock page explains which models hold up in Florida homes.
- Plan for power outages. Homes that rely on a phone app or a Wi-Fi garage opener can be left with no way in when the power goes out. Keep one physical key somewhere safe.
What it costs
We tell you the price on the phone, before we drive out. What affects the total:
- The type of lock. Standard knobs and deadbolts are quickest. High-security, mortise and some smart locks take longer.
- Extra work. Rekeying, new locks or spare keys add to the bill only if you ask for them.
You get the full price on the phone before we drive out, and we confirm it before any work starts. See our pricing guide for how locksmith pricing works in Jacksonville.
How to avoid a lockout scam
When you're stuck outside, it's tempting to call the first ad you see. Some out-of-town call centers quote a very low price on the phone, then charge several times more once the door is open. Protect yourself:
- Ask for the total price before anyone drives out, not just a "service call" fee.
- Expect a locksmith who asks for your ID. One who doesn't is a warning sign.
- Get an itemized invoice with the company's name on it.

How we work
No surprises. No scare tactics.
Locksmith scams follow a pattern. Here is how we do the opposite, on every job.
-
Upfront price on the phone
Tell us what's going on and we quote the total before we drive out. If something on site changes the job, we explain why and you approve the new price before we start.
-
ID check before we open
Before we open a door, we check your ID and something that ties you to the address or vehicle, like a lease, bill or registration. It protects you as much as it protects us.
-
Courtesy call and marked arrival
We call when we're on the way and arrive in a vehicle marked with our name. The person you talked to on the phone is the business that shows up, not a subcontractor.
-
Non-destructive entry first
Most lockouts open by picking or bypass tools, with no damage. We only drill as a last resort, and only after you agree to it and the cost.
-
Itemized invoice
When the work is done you get an itemized invoice with our business name on it. It matches the price you agreed to, with no surprise fees added at the door.
-
Local and owner-operated
When you call, you reach a local business based in the 32258 area, not a national call center that sells your job to whoever is closest.
Straight answers
Frequently asked questions
How fast can you get to my house if I'm locked out?
We give you a real arrival window when you call, based on your address and traffic. Typical arrival: Most of Jacksonville in 20–45 minutes. Near our 32258 base, we aim to be with you within 30 minutes of your call. We're based near Bartram Park, so Mandarin, Southside and northern St. Johns County are usually the quickest for us to reach.
Will opening my door damage the lock?
Usually not. Most house lockouts are opened by picking the lock or by using a bypass tool, and the lock keeps working with your old key. Drilling is a last resort for a few high-security or broken locks, and we tell you before we do it and what the new lock costs.
Do I need to prove I live there?
Yes. Before we open any home, we check a photo ID that shows the address. If your ID has an old address, a lease, utility bill, mortgage statement or car registration works too. If your ID is locked inside, we open the door and then check it before we leave. This protects you as much as us.
What should I do if a child or pet is locked inside?
If a child, a vulnerable adult or a pet is at risk, or the stove is on, call 911 first. Firefighters and police can force entry faster than any locksmith. If there's no immediate danger, call us and tell us who is inside so we can put your job first.
Can you let me into my apartment if I rent?
Yes. Renters get locked out too, and we open apartment and condo doors with the same ID check. Some complexes want their own maintenance staff called first, so check your lease if you can. We won't change or rekey a rental's locks without the landlord's approval.
My keypad or smart lock died. Can you open it?
Yes. Many keypad locks have a key cylinder or emergency battery contacts on the outside, and we can use either. If not, we open the lock like any other deadbolt. Once you're in, we replace the batteries and check the lock so it doesn't strand you again.
