Car Lockout in Jacksonville? Damage-Free Entry, Price Quoted Up Front
Taking calls until 9 PM
Most of Jacksonville in 20–45 minutes
What to do right now
Being stuck next to a locked car in a Jacksonville parking lot in July is more than annoying. The sun is strong, the pavement is hot, and the inside of a closed car heats up fast. Start with safety:
- A child, pet or vulnerable adult is inside? Call 911 first. Firefighters and police can open the car faster than anyone. Then call us.
- The engine is running? Stay by the car so no one else can drive off with it, and tell us when you call so we come to you first.
- You're somewhere unsafe? Move to a lit, busy spot nearby, such as a store entrance or gas station, and let us know where.
- Everyone is fine? Try every door, the trunk and the tailgate once. Then call (904) 509-0907 or text us your location.
How we prioritize your call
Not every lockout is the same, so we don't treat them the same. We sort calls by urgency:
Priority 1: a child or pet locked inside
The inside of a car can get almost 20°F hotter in the first 10 minutes, according to NHTSA. Call 911 first. Then call us, and we treat it as the first call of the day. When a child or pet is locked in a car, we often open it free of charge.
Priority 2: engine running or a risky spot
An idling car with the keys inside can overheat or run out of gas, and a car stuck on a busy shoulder near I-95 or I-295 is a hazard. These calls go ahead of routine work.
Priority 3: standard lockouts
Keys locked in the car or the trunk, with the spare sitting at home. We give you an honest arrival window and send the nearest open slot. Typical arrival: Most of Jacksonville in 20–45 minutes.
How we open your car without damage
This is the biggest difference between a trained automotive locksmith and a tow-truck trick. Many people still reach for a slim jim or an air wedge. Modern car doors are full of wiring, airbag sensors, window regulators and thin linkage rods. A slim jim can unhook a rod, cut a wire or set off a warning light. A pry wedge can bend the frame, tear the weatherstrip or crack tinted glass.
We use Lishi 2-in-1 picks. A Lishi pick fits into the door lock, reads the wafers inside it and turns the cylinder as if it were your key. Nothing gets pried.
Why Lishi instead of a slim jim?
- Slim jim: risks airbag wiring, side-impact sensors and the window mechanism. It doesn't work on many newer cars at all.
- Lishi pick: no contact with the inside of the door. It works on high-security cars too, including the BMW and Lexus deadlock systems common in St. Johns Town Center parking garages.
Cars that start with a button need a little more care. If the key is locked inside, some cars will not lock at all, while others lock and arm the alarm. Tell us your model and we'll explain what to expect.
Trunks, trucks and work vehicles
Keys locked in the trunk are a common call. On many sedans we can reach the trunk release or the fold-down seats once a door is open. If there is no pass-through, we pick the trunk lock directly.
We also open pickups, work trucks, box trucks and delivery vans.
Local things that make car locks stick
Salt air at Jacksonville Beach
Cars parked often at Jacksonville Beach pick up salt and fine sand in the door locks. Over time this "salt weld" makes the cylinder gritty and hard to turn. We clean it and use a dry lubricant made for lock cylinders. We avoid heavy spray oils on beach cars, because they hold sand and make the problem worse.
Military bases
If your car is on NAS Jacksonville, tell us when you call. Base access rules apply, and some areas don't allow photos during the job. Our technicians carry DBIDS credentials, so we can reach vehicles on NAS Jax.
What a car lockout costs
We quote the price on the phone before we head your way, and that's the price you pay for the job we described. What changes the price:
- The vehicle. A standard door lock is quicker than a laser-cut or deadlock system.
- Trunk only. Some trunk locks take longer than a door.
- Time of day. Calls near the end of our hours may cost more.
- Distance. Most of Jacksonville is in our standard area. Farther trips are quoted up front.
See our locksmith pricing guide for more on what affects the total. You get the full price on the phone before we drive out, and we confirm it before any work starts.
What happens when you call
- You call or text. Tell us where you are and what you drive.
- We quote and give an arrival window. You know the price and the timing before we leave.
- We arrive and check ID. Please have your ID ready. We'll check that the car is yours before we open it. That protects you as much as us.
- We open the car. Most doors take a few minutes once we're there.
- You check everything. Make sure the key works and the car starts, then pay and get a receipt.
Where we work
We're based on the Southside near Bartram Park, and we handle car lockouts across Duval County and nearby. That includes Mandarin, Southside and Baymeadows, San Marco, Jacksonville Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach. See every area we serve.

How we work
No surprises. No scare tactics.
Locksmith scams follow a pattern. Here is how we do the opposite, on every job.
-
Upfront price on the phone
Tell us what's going on and we quote the total before we drive out. If something on site changes the job, we explain why and you approve the new price before we start.
-
ID check before we open
Before we open a door, we check your ID and something that ties you to the address or vehicle, like a lease, bill or registration. It protects you as much as it protects us.
-
Courtesy call and marked arrival
We call when we're on the way and arrive in a vehicle marked with our name. The person you talked to on the phone is the business that shows up, not a subcontractor.
-
Non-destructive entry first
Most lockouts open by picking or bypass tools, with no damage. We only drill as a last resort, and only after you agree to it and the cost.
-
Itemized invoice
When the work is done you get an itemized invoice with our business name on it. It matches the price you agreed to, with no surprise fees added at the door.
-
Local and owner-operated
When you call, you reach a local business based in the 32258 area, not a national call center that sells your job to whoever is closest.

Frequently asked questions
What should I do first when I'm locked out of my car?
Check that everyone is safe, then call us. If a child, pet or vulnerable adult is inside on a warm day, call 911 first. Otherwise, stay near the car, try every door and the trunk, and have your location and the car's year, make and model ready when you call (904) 509-0907.
Will unlocking my car damage the door, window or paint?
Almost never. We pick the door lock with Lishi tools made for automotive locks, the same way a key turns it. We don't use slim jims, and we don't force wedges into the frame, so the weatherstrip, tint, paint and airbag wiring are left alone. If a car has a known risk, we tell you before we start.
Do you come to where my car is?
Yes. We're a fully mobile locksmith, so we come to your car wherever it is: a driveway in Mandarin, a garage at St. Johns Town Center, a lot at Jacksonville Beach or the shoulder of a side street.
What information do you need when I call about a car lockout?
We need your exact location, the year, make and model of the vehicle, and whether the keys are inside the car or in the trunk. Cross streets, a store name or a parking-garage level help us find you fast. On a military base such as NAS Jax, tell us right away, because base access rules apply.
How much does a car lockout cost in Jacksonville?
It depends on the vehicle and where you are, and we tell you the full price on the phone before we drive out. Trunk-only openings and high-security locks take longer than a standard door. There are no surprise fees added at the car. Our pricing page explains what affects the cost.
Do you open commercial trucks, vans and fleet vehicles?
Yes. We open pickups, work trucks, box trucks, delivery vans and fleet vehicles. For businesses in Jacksonville's warehouse and logistics areas, a stuck vehicle costs money by the hour, so tell us it's a work vehicle and we'll plan the visit around your route.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. We stand behind our work, and we open cars with non-destructive methods so there's nothing to repair afterward. Our lock installations are backed by a 5-year money-back guarantee. If anything about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come back to fix it.
When are you available for car lockouts?
We're available Mon & Fri 7 AM–2 PM and Tue & Thu 7 AM–6 PM. We answer calls Mon–Fri 7 AM–9 PM, and we don't take lockout jobs at night. Outside call hours, text us and we'll reply when calls open again. If a child or pet is locked inside, call 911.
